A documentary film about the search for family history

The documentary tells a powerful personal story of parental love and sacrifice during the Holocaust. Karen Kruger searches for the past of her mother Erika Turkl Purdom, one of Winton's children, who came from the family of Brno chief rabbi Baruch Placzek, and on the basis of letters written during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, she reveals the tragic fate of her grandparents.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the producer, author of the book and main protagonist of the film Karen Kruger and the film's director Jeffery Gary.

The screening will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:15 (for schools) and 17:00 (for the public) in the cinema hall of the Terezín Ghetto Museum, free admission!

The conversation with the creators will take place in English, translation into Czech is provided.
